When I realized I wanted to be a writer, I always thought of magazine editor in the corner office or an author in a home office. I never thought of being a blogger, sitting up early on the weekend or late nights on weeknights. I'm a blogger with a regular full time job. A book review blogger who is always armed with a book and pen. I'm actually
sitting in a hotel lobby before a meeting writing this. I have a 9 - 5 job in the corporate sector. By the end of a day of crunching figures, putting together reports and doing the business tango, I'm tired. However, I'm vibrating with excitement to get on to my blog at night. I go from business to book blog and I simply love it. I keep up with the social media end of things during the day as I just can't resist being who I am, a book lover blogging about books.
It truly adds colour, flavour and texture to my life. When people ask me what I do in my spare time, I grin and tell them, "I'm Editor in Chief of my book review blog." Not the answer expected by most. It's been such an exciting and satisfying journey and I've met so many interesting, unique and talented authors, bloggers and readers among other things.
I may have a full time job but I also have a full time dream of one day being a writer.
Don't let anyone stop you, it's not impossible to go from business to book blogger.
